    Good morning everyone,

A month ago I bought a large collection of notes and in this collection there are some stunning notes with majority of rare notes from Iceland.

The beautiful thing about this collection is that the majority of the notes are in superb condition.

Here is one that is just drop dead goergious...........

I have never seen a better specimen

The value in Krause is off by considereble ammount when it comes to Icelandic early notes. I have some more intersting notes I´ll show you later this week :)

A really impressive note Siggi. May I ask who the man is pictured on the note and a translation of the wording. Thanks so much..

    Thanks Bruce,

That would be King of Denmark Christian IX on the reverse is the coat or arms used in 1907

It was drawn by Gerhard Heilman and the left signature is handwritten.

The note is a hard one to find in any high grade specially in this grade. It´s almost unheard off.

Beautiful note that I really appreciate because I like old style Danish inspired notes.

I have question though, back in 1900 did they use Danish or Icelandic language on the notes? I have to admit I do not know enough about either language to distinguish difference betwixt them.

    Thank you,

They used Icelandic on the notes. But not on the coins

Thanks for the info Siggi. Again, a beautiful note and now even more interesting because I have a little history on it thanks to you. Thanks again.
