All I'm trying to find out is some information on the coin itself. I wouldn't expect anyone who didn't have the coin in hand to speculate as to it's metal content. I offered that it looked gold plated only as a descriptor. It does not, in person, look like polished brass. I only mentioned the gold plating to define what the coin looks like to help identify it.

Okay, we've all had a lot of fun at my expense. Now back to the original question. Does anyone know what this coin/token is?

I have seen something very similar out of Israil but the writting was Hebrew, I wonder if it was produced by the vatican? The Israilie one came in Brass & Silver I believe. Sorry I cant be of more help.

The Vatican sounds like a good candidate, thanks for the suggestion!
