Just received this beautiful set of Jefferson nickels. The pinks are amazing on some of them. I own my fair share of toned Jefferson's, but I was completely blown away when I opened this package. I'm sure even those of you who don't like this type, can certainly appreciate the eye appeal of some of these. Hope you dig 'em, I know I do. -greg
They were all being sold separately including the war nickels. The war nickels were not toned however. I bought all the clad except for one. I really wasn't expecting them to be this nice based on the seller images. So I was pretty happy when I got them. They are the only pink toned ones in my collection.
If I remember right, there was a brown/tan album that was fairly notorious for producing "pink toning" if the nickels were BU when placed inside.
If I remembered I would say. All I remember is seeing rolls of pink nickels from coins plucked from albums, and for some reason remember light brown/tan. The Blue ones usually produced more of an array of colors, but the brown produced reddish hues. Just some ramblings from what I saw 30 years ago. Back then the war nickels were plucked out, the 50d and mintmarked 38 and 39 issues, and everything else went into the miscellaneous nickel pile or rolled and deposited into banks. A couple weird dealers kept any 48 s's they found too.
