At the Dallas ANA show I bought an 1898-p morgan for my 1898 mint set (probably the second easiest coin of 1898 to get in Mint State), and decided to look at VAMworld to see if I could find a match, and I found it! Although she's not great (since when did I start refering to coins as "she"...?), it's an excellent fill until I can get an NGC or PCGS piece because I'm not a great mint state grader yet. Anyway, it's a 1898-p VAM-2A which is an R-5, so I think I did alright for $45 bucks. The link to the Vamworld page is located here: http://www.vamworld.com/1898-P+VAM-2A

orry, No pics yet, lost my loop (which is strange that I would post a thread about it if I'm not positive, although I've got a good eye, and I clearly see the die gauges)

Looks like a neat die variety, and I'm diggin' those die gouges!

Not sure what kind of premium the VAM might command, but considering it's an R5, I'd imagine there'd be some sort of added value (if you find the right buyer).

How do you figure it's an "R-5"?

Nevermind, I see it listed on the VAM Page.
