I paid $23 with buyer's prem, which is not bad at all considering it values at $28.

The slab says VG-08 Scratched, but I REALLY think it's more of a F-12, what's your opinion? I don't see any major scratches on it.

I'm thinking of submitting it to PCGS for grins and giggles, but do you think it will come back graded or not?

The reason I bought this coin is because the contrast on the reverse is beautiful!

I'm done buying for probably all of next month. I might get something nice with Christmas money.

Is that a scratch by the wing on reverse?

    I think so.

  7. The technical grade matters little if there is a problem. If it happens to grade at PCGS @ F12 problem free, it will still be worth less than all the fees you have into it.

Contrast on both sides is nice.

I agree completely. However, I do think the scratch is just to the left of the eagle and it is probably bad enough to warrant a genuine slab. I wouldn't put anymore money into it.

I think your right. I'm gonna leave it as-is.

The scratch on the reverse in the field may be able to slide by, but the scratch on Liberty's right hand is a killer for me and I think that would land it in a genuine slab. I would leave it alone, which I guess you have already decided to do.

I'm so glad that they slab them now though, there was nothing more disappointing to me than the old body bag they used to return your coin in. May as well have been an urn.

Absolutely... Detecto is now posting excellent pictures, along with quality threads. I think there may be hope for the young man yet... good job!

If it would of graded Teletrade would of ran it past the in house PCGS grader to sell.

But it seemed to me like Detecto was brushing it off as though he didn't deserve it.
