Circulation Finds

Prior to attending dental school I worked as a bank teller (2007-08) and as a result had access to a large amount of cash. I learned very quickly to scan the notes in my drawer and isolate star notes or older $1 notes. In my eyes, anything in the 1995 or older was old enough to save and any star note was set aside. As a result, I accumulated a large number of $1 star notes from the early 2000 series. I also picked up a handful of older $5, $10, and $20 notes (a couple of each denomination). For the most part...these are all from common runs (I think I have about 20 Series 2003 Chiacgo $1 star notes). I'm going through this hoard again and I am starting to feel that this money (probably $200 or so face value...with only face invested) would probably be better used being put towards one or a couple nice notes rather than this large hoard. My only concern is, do I simply return these notes into circulation or try and find nice homes for them. Again, I can't imagine it is worth the time to try and place them somewhere...but on the other hand I feel bad simply depositing them into my account (for some reason). What do you think I should do?

I think, If you feel bad about putting them in your account, put them on eBay for a starting bid of face value, and some in the bst forum, someone will want them, after all, they would only being paying face plus shipping

  5. CamaroDMD,
Please check out my Want list, there's about 15 + newer notes that I have been looking for just to fill in the holes in my collection.

If you have something I can use I would be more than happty to pay above face.

If the notes are from years that are not too limited I would not suggest ebay. Even if you do sell it for face value, after fees you will be losing. I would say try the BST section on forums. If you must put them back in circulation I would suggest using them to purchase other notes from your LCS.

I would say try finding a home for them here at CT. Deposit or spend what remains after 2 weeks.

:) and when someone breaks the rules, it is easier for the mods if others don't quote them :)
