Let me know your thoughts? I'm guessing machine doubling on the s. But I'm no expert. Don't know about the reverse on the bottom of the E and S
It would be awesome to find a real 69s doubled die cent. google this is you can see one of these scarce critters.
I've definitely seen lots of pics of real 69s DD. There is even one in my red book. It still confuses me the difference between DD and machine doubling.
Repunched Mint Mark. It looks as though the "S" mint mark was punched in a second time for some reason. PS there are almost 3,000 Lincoln varieties that include things like a RPM. Check out coppercoins.com
I would say no because it would be worth about $5-$10 ($20 max). It would cost more to get graded. I would just put it in a regular 2X2, or if you want to splurge, a hard plastic 2X2.
I think the mint mark shows the characteristics of MDD, rather than a RPM, but you are correct, it would cost more to authenicate and grade than it is worth. Also on many very minor varieties, PCGS and NGC will not verify, so one is left to ANACs.
I agree! Ill definitely take care of it. Maybe take it to a local coin shop for a second opinion. Not that I don't believe anyone's opinion. I appreciate everyone's input. Besides everything looks different in a picture.
