Well, I give up for tonight. Hopefully it shows up one day. TC, I paid 9 for it, but that's not what bothers me so much, the fact that it just disappeared is driving me crazy.

The last significant coin that I lost, a 1937 PCGS MS-62 three leg Buffalo nickel came back to me nearly a year after I noticed that it was gone. I accidentally shipped it out to an eBay buyer that purchased a regular PCGS MS-64 from me. I had no idea where it went at the time. Apparently, the buyer noticed my mistake, but didn't have the courtesy to inform me about it. Later, he became religious after getting married, felt guilty about taking advantage of my obvious mistake and returned it to me nearly a year and a half after I sent it to him along with a letter of apology. I was so happy to see it that I sent him a MS-65 buffalo, a VF-35 three leg and his money back. Nothing like that happened this time, but I hope it comes back to me sooner or later.

Would you send me your tax returns?

  5. Retrace your exact steps from when you purchased the coin to when you lost it. If you remember having it in your house, that narrows it down. Do not put the trash out until you find it. Anyone besides you and your wife in the house? It will turn up. TC

That really sucks, Kirkuleez. Hopefully it will turn up eventually.

Yesterday, I cleaned my den and found a $10 and a $20 in folded in receipts from a store, plus an envelope filled with 50 $1 banknotes sitting in a pile of junk mail. If I hadn't checked each and every piece of paper, it all would have wound up in the garbage.

Hope you find it. When I misplace a coin, I usually find it in my scanner.

Since he does not seem to be getting the hints that this is - or can be - rude, let him keep asking. Sooner or later he will do this to the wrong (right) person and will get a (the) much deserved response.

    OP,

Tough one, but hopefully it will show soon. I cannot even remember how many times Ive had the same happen, and usually they show up. Ill cross my fingers for you.

I haven't given up hope of finding it, but I have looked everywhere that I can think of. At this point, I am no longer actively looking for it, I just hope I run across it sometime down the road. Man that coin was pretty.

If I was you, I would start sifting through the trash assuming it hasn't made it to the landfill. I assume that you checked all your drawers and under everything. It is kind of hard to throw out something as large as a Morgan in a holder.

The trash went out the day before I realized that it was gone. Believe me, I would have put on a hasmat suit and went to digging.

I once lost a five ounce libertad, it turned up inside an ase box that I got as a gift, best I can figure I was enjoying some adult beverages and saw that it fit perfectly in the same box. I wrote it off as being stolen by the leprechauns, until I was inventorying my silver eagles and noticed one box weighed much more than the others.

  19. I hate to say it but that may be your answer. I lost a wedding band that way. I was taking out the trash and it must have slipped off my finger. I still hope you find it. If not, it is only money. :) TC

WOO HOO!!!!!!! Today is a great day...I FOUND IT!!!! :hail:

After I thought that I looked everywhere, I decided to flip my couch over and look for it. I found it inside the bottom liner. With a little disapproval of my girlfriend, I sliced it open. Once again that pretty Morgan is mine. I'm not sure when I was happier, when I bought it, or now that I found it. Here is an image that the dealer gave me when I told him that I lost it. I think that it was his way of giving it back to me, but it only made me want it more. This time though, success.
