I don't know if i'm behind or what but I just saw a pic of the new $100 dollar bill and loved the design on it. Here's a interactive view so you can check out all the new features. http://www.newmoney.gov/newmoney/flash/interactive100/index.html Also recently someone stole a bunch of these and there not even suppose to be released until next year sometime. I work at a bank and we got a email stating that if we come across any of these to confiscate them and treat them as counterfeit bills and send them to the secret service! Very interesting. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/12/fbi-one-hundred-dollar-bills_n_1962702.html
Just saw this... guess they caught someone... http://money.cnn.com/2012/10/23/news/economy/us-airways-theft/index.html?iid=HP_River
That is the worst looking bill I've seen in a long time. It looks like some kid drew it with colored crayons. But I'm sure some will like it. The sad thing is I'll have to have some if for no other reason than to fill the holes in my collection. Bill Collector:so-sad:
I deal with 100's all the time because of CRH, what if I got a counterfeit one from the bank, would I be screwed if someone else at a store or another bank noticed it? No one wants $500 or $1000 in $20's in their wallet, back pain in an instant. Anyone see the Seinfeld with George Costanza's wallet? That would be what it looks like. HOTN
The way it works is the last one caught with it loses it, if you got it from a bank, once you leave the window or the bank your stuck with it. Bill Collector
My wife had a pampered chef party or some dang thing like that, and one of the people that ordered paid cash. One of the bills was a fake $20. The person went back to their bank and got a new bill from them, no questions asked. That being said, I live in a small town made up primarily of community and regional banks that actually care about customer service.
I am torn with my feelings seeing them on BEP webistes and whatnot, but once I have one in hand I will be able to decide whether I actually like them or not. With so many stars printed though, I told my teller not to even bother saving stars she will run into as I assume that will be every other note.
I really like them too, especially that blue, 3-D strip that has the liberty bell turning into "100" when tilted.
I don't know how so many of you could hate the design! The hundred dollar bill right now is sooooo boring and this bill kind of spices it up a little bit.
Ever notice that, except for the $2, the color of the paper corresponds to the colors of Monopoly money?
