1999 nickel rpm or md?

    not sure but i think read before that after a certain year the MM were made directly on the die? is that correct for nickels? is that the case here or is it an RPM? ty in advance.

    can't be an RPM as they ended on 1990. that is machine doubling

    That's right. Mintmarks were no longer hand-punched into the working dies after circa 1990/1991. The flat shelf on your mintmark was caused by strike doubling (aka machine doubling).
