I got lucky! Went to my local dealer on day and some lady just sold him a bag of errors she found while working as a bank teller for 20+ years. I made him an offer on the whole bag of like 25 coins and he took it.

One of my fav error coins because it's so far off center, yet it shows the date and part of Lincolns face.....not to mention it's a high grade coin.

1990D error and what I call a "floating head". The neck was polished away I believe.

 

Anyone know how many steps there are on a Lincoln?

 

.. and bit bumpy, but relatively clean and full.

The 1990P is not graded PL? The D is beautiful, it doesn't look to have full steps though and some weakness in STATES OF.

 

It's pretty funny, I stumped a LOT of people when I asked this question and that includes some VERY well respected experts who have written books on Lincolns.

 

In 1983 and 1984 the steps design was temporarily changed to this:
