Hi Everyone! I'm new at this so bear with me. I have a Swiss 1982 -2Fr Coin that I THINK has a die axis rotation error (found the name in a coin book). Now, I'm not sure if they made the coin different that particular year because I also have 2 other Swiss 2Fr coins (dated 1972 & 1981) that if you turn it from top to bottom, your looking at the reverse right side up, like our US coins. On the 1982 if you turn it from top to bottom, the reverse is upside down. Can someone tell me something about this? Is this an error? Is it worth anything? Thanks in advance!

The 2007 Standard Catalog of World Coins 20th Century 34th Ed. lists your 1982 coin as KM#21a.2, with the special note "Medal Alignment", meaning that when you rotate it horizontally both sides will be right side up, instead of the usual "Coin Alignment", in which rotation vertically has both sides right side up.

It appears to be a one-year change, applicable to several denominations.

There was the largest mintage of the cu-ni 2Fr that year compared to the next several years, although smaller than the previous several years. The SCWC value is $5 Unc and up, and no value given below that. It's face value today is ~US$1.65.

I also have a 1968 B or G mm 5F coin with medal presentation. Was this a mint made design feature or an error. Thanks for any help !
