Okay... time to roll out some Greek notes. First up is one of my first WWI era Greek notes, and oddly my first 5 drachma note. Anywho, these were done by the ABNCo so, you know they are going to have attractive engraving...
Darryl, I saw that Heritage had some of those for sale last month or so. Did you score either of these Specimens from that auction?
Time for more Greece, you've been waiting so long, I decided to give you THREE Greek notes all at once. They are all WWI era Greek small denomination notes. I especially like the 2 drachma note with Posieden. On the third note, it's Hermes but I keep thinking he looks like the Underwood Ham devil...
No, picked them both up on eBay. I watch ha auctions sometimes but have never bought anything from them. I have bought from another major auction house only because they had something I couldn't get anywhere else. The buying fees in my experience puts the items at a higher cost than other options. If you work to develop the other options and or are patient I feel the major auction houses only add value for the near impossible finds.
I wonder what all the signatures are from? Maybe a class at school or something? (college writing seems older not younger)
This one cost a pretty penny. What a beauty though. I got a decent deal because it was raw and it looks like someone tried to clean the stain on the right. I'd pin it at about VF 30/net. Another interesting note is in the mail and coming any day now.
Just received these in the mail. The Richmond $20 is an Fr 980, tougher signature combination in what I hope will come back as a 40/45.
Arrived today: 1918 $1 (Fr. 714). I think it would grade Unc 62. The only flaw it has, is that all four corners are dinged.
