as i believe i learn a little here and there, i started looking at my recent star note finds in the whole week i have been searching. does the 050 at the beginning and end make it a bookend? does a birthday note HAVE to be a past date? its only 38 years away. i'm reaching on this one. thanks in advance

Bryan, your Coin Talk nickname is now STRETCH.....if you, and eBay are still around 38 years from now, you have a winner.

pumpkinpie what is this I don*t even

If you could somehow eradicate the first two numbers, it could be a birthday note for someone born of August 20th, 1950. LOL

The serial number "F 05 0820 50 *" would not be considered a "bookend" serial number. Serial number "F 50 0820 50 *" would be considered a "bookend" serial number.

You're right. That would make a "bookend" serial number.
