Any ideas on why there seems to be a dearth of these coins available? I went to ANA in Philly and only one dealer had a few in cleaned/bad condition. I bought the only one on Heritage, and I can't find any more online. I just went to the Parsippani show on Sunday and even the world coin dealers there told me they are hard to get. Any ideas? Teletrade has not had any that I can remember for a while. This is opposed to the earlier & later 5 Franc Swiss coins

Also could someone please post population reports for NGC & PCGS for this type by date?

    Thanks for your help.

    Finally, my coin:

NGC is only showing 15 for that year anyway. With only one at your grade. 305,000 of them were minted for that year.

NGC and PCGS population reports are meaningless for foreign coins.

    Care to explain why?

Because collectors in other countries don't send their coins in to NGC and PCGS. Most foreign coins are more plentiful in their countries and regions of origin, so these population reports are not representative of examples that are out there in any given grade.

Not only are people in countries other than the USA not tombing their coins, there are purists in the USA that don't either.

It still doesn't explain why I can't seem to find any, whereas German States, Great Britain, France, etc. all seem to be available.

Six of this date sold on eBay in the past two months. Yours is a superior example, however.

Seems like it. Good to go local.

Nice coin. You should have gotten this Swiss coin instead. It must have taken years to produce it.
