The French notes are worth, at most, about $4.00-$6.00 a piece in the condition they are in. No French note denominated in francs are redeemable by the Bank of France anymore, which means monetarily they are only worth the paper they are printed on. From a collector's standpoint, there are plenty of notes on the market in better shape. Of course, even they don't bring a huge amount of money. Based on what I see, you've got about $25-$30 in French notes. Can't opine about the others, but I know that Italy and Greece both no longer redeem their old currency for Euros so all you are looking at is collector value.
Thank you for replying, I'm not a note collector but its a possibility I'll be looking into these French notes later down the road. The color on these are absolutely beautiful!
The redemption period for pre-euro paper money is over in Finland, France, Greece and Italy. The next ones will be Cyprus and Malta, in 2017/18 ... Christian
I love French notes. (Note the avatar). Some issues are tough to find in higher grades, but overall they are much more colorful than American notes. And they don't have any monetary value, to boot. Its all collector's value now.
the voltaire 10 franc notes look to be in decent condition, and in the uk would bring around £8 each, the rest are not very saleable and are usually used as gap fillers only, that said some of the notes in the bank of england museum are in quite poor condition but because of their rarity value they are in the exhibition.
great, another lover of gallic bank notes, for me some of them are just like miniature works of art. this is one of my particular favorites.....
