$1 error?

I was just wondering if anyone knows if the bottom bill is an "error" bill. The serial numbers all seem to be shifted a bit to the right. Also, the "2" in all places seems to also be shifted. I put a regular bill with it for comparison. Just thought it looked strange. Also, if it IS an error - any value? (other than $1.00, that is) Thanks for looking. Oh, and by the way, who can explain what happened? I have no clue.

That is quite strange. I don't have the slightest idea of value.

The green ink plate must have not been set right on target when it printed that set of notes. Personally, I wouldn't think it has much value over $1.00, but you never know what people will buy.

Maybe my computer is showing the picture incorrectly, but to me the bottom bill looks 100% normal, and the top one has the serial number and seal shifted to the left.[IMG]

The bottom note has the serial and district numbers shifted slightly to the right; they are printed at the same time.

It has no premium value, as it's too minor of a shift.

I have a bill like that---I emailed Mr Bart---I've heard that he is a money expert...and he said there was no extra value.

if you go through several bills... you'll see the same thing everytime. The alignment of the prints are never the exact same... I've seen some of the bank numbers in the corner practically over the border. That will give you some extra value... but not much.

I have never seen alignments quite like that i would keep a hol of them if its not an error now it will be, I thought i have seen that error posted somewhere, while it didn't bring a huge premium it did bring about a 400% in crease . i will atke that kind of premium even on a penny

This is a misaligned twenty from when the signatures were printed at the same time as seals and serial numbers, instead of being engraved on the main design plates.

Wow, I leave for a day or two, and there's plenty of reading material when I get back. I don't know anything about paper money and not a whole heck of a lot about coins, but I'm learning. This just caught my eyeballs - both of em even. I'll hold on to it unless Scout tells me where I can cash it in for that 400% increase. If it's worth that, trust me, I'll head to the bank tomorrow and start buying all the bills I can to look at.

    Thanks everybody!
