I won the bid on a BU set of Roosevelt dimes. 1946 P D and S. Then I noticed she had 2 other lots of the same thing. But all 3 lots had the same picture. I hate stock photos. When I buy a coin, I want to get the one pictured, otherwise we may be dealing with carbon spots, unwanted toning, etc. So I emailed the seller and informed him/her that I was putting together a set of Roosevelt dimes, and needed each coin to be flawless, as they were in the picture of the lot I won. So I get a reply back: Each picture is of the exact item listed. The lot I won. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Roosevelt-silver-dimes-set-of-3-in-flips-1946-P-D-S-/330805946276?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&nma=true&si=8zfrGf3eFX9yiMw7XE2NEdTfL%2B8%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc The other two lots. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Roosevelt-silver-dimes-set-of-3-in-flips-1946-P-D-S-/330805945154?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item4d05922342&nma=true&si=8zfrGf3eFX9yiMw7XE2NEdTfL%2B8%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Roosevelt-silver-dimes-set-of-3-in-flips-1946-P-D-S-/330805944745?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item4d059221a9&nma=true&si=8zfrGf3eFX9yiMw7XE2NEdTfL%2B8%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 As you can see, they are all the same pictures.
I had this same kind of issue back in my franklin days. What really burned my butt is that a lot of eBay sellers were even using stock photos for SLABBED coins. Seriously? How hard is it to take a picture of a coin? Even a cell phone camera can take a decent picture.
Man I hate looking at stock pic's for something I buy. F-that-sellers should send you what they list-I do not bid on that statrment-you will recieve one that looks like the one above----
I find it humorous that the seller replied right away to my 1st email (mobile phone), then I emailed her again explaining the pictures, and she has not replied since.
Drop back 10 yards and punt! Seriously, when you receive the coins and they are not what you expected or as described, then SNAD the transaction.
She has not responded yet. It would be too big of hassle to pay, wait for them to arrive, make a claim, ship them back, etc. All she has to do is tell me if the coins I bid on are in BU condition like the ones pictured.
Either way, it's a 3.00 loss, mabye less, so just take it, unless the time it takes you it worth 3.00, than mark it as a loss and keep going
Let me help you with that: Item specifics
Ungraded Business Uncirculated
Now granted the seller does not state what level of uncirculated, so at the very least they would have to be BU. Does it really make a difference about the photos as long as you receive 3 uncirculated, 1946 P,D,S Roosevelts?
"What Should I do?" Start paying attanetion BEFORE bidding! ALWAYS check the sellers "other Listings" if you are that concerned.
Well the lady sent me an invoice this afternoon that contained "these coins do not have any spots or toning". So I went ahead and paid for them. I will see how things turn out.
