just wondering if it is worth more than face,or just a spender due to lousy condition. Thanks....Dennis
Its in bad shape, but you could still get a few dollars more than face out of it. I'd say keep it or throw it on Ebay. It would be a shame to deposit it at your bank only for the Fed to shred it.
Thanks, I'm not looking to sell anyway, just trying to learn. I don't really collect paper, but if I get something I think is cool I hold on to it. I actually found this and a bunch of other notes ill be asking about in a storage closet that I paid $10.00 for. So even if they all are only worth face value,I'm already way ahead of the game
My book which is not current (4 years old) list that quantity printed at 3,392,328 and in VG-8 value at $65.Pretty cool note to start learning on and getting started collecting on anyhow.Great storage closet find...curious to see what other goodies you got.
Mostly newer notes, stars, two dollar notes-some old red seals, two graded silver certs.(one is a star) two I think are called national currency notes? Not sure if they're real, and a bunch of nice albums full of first day cover stamps(not sure if they ate worth anything but they ate cool. I'll be posting a little at a time so I don't drive you paper people crazy funny,I probably could have got the locker for a buck,I threw a bid of ten and no one else bid. Oh there were also coins in there,a few Morgans, some junk silver, and a bunch of foreign stuff! I didn't get rich like those dudes on tv do every week though
It is the sort of thing I would likely buy if it came into my bank - I keep old notes for "emergency money". With the economy in the toilet bowl lots of older stuff has been filtering out of the woodwork and I am always on the prowl for stuff at banks.
Ok,here's a couple more, looking for values and any other info oh,and is this a legit. Grading company?
On that silver certificate on the top see how the margins on the left is smaller then the opposite side and not truley centered....that is definatly not a perfect new 70 note. The only thing i know to say about the Currency Evalution Company or (Third Party Grader) is that they are the generic or cheap way to get notes authenticated and dont have the reputation and history of PMG or PCGS.Other then that nice silver certificates.
Yes,I see what you mean and I had a feeling about that grading company,as I have never seen it at a dealer or at the show I go to.
