I went to a garage sale yesterday, she was advertising coin collection for sale. had to go. long story short. she needed the money, I wanted the coins. She gave me a price of 10.00, felt guilty and I gave here 20.00. Walked away with over 300 foriegn coins. So if I could post some here and there, give me a little history, and where I can research them myself. Then if you could let me know if my money was well spent. (smile)

Get yourself a copy of Krause's standard catalog of World coins, covering the dates you need, those particular coins you have showing are canadian cents the 1894 appears to be at least a vf-20 if not better, I'm not an expert on candian grading so I'll put it at $13.00 or better, the 1897's I'd grade at f-12 and vf-20 respectively placing their worth around $2.75 and $4.00. So those three cents worth about $19.75 I'd say you got a bargain.

Sounds like you did. If it truly was a coin collection and not just a pile of coins hoarded over time, then you might have some better ones in there.

Post some older coins (i.e. 1800's and earlier if possible).

For $20 it sounds more than reasonable.

Try your local public library, which will probably either have the SCWC, or can get if for you on inter-library loan.
