Hey Cointalk, I know this is a bit of a long shot but I was wondering if there are any movies just about US coins or at least non-related movies that include alot of scenes of US coins. I'll appreciate any help, thanks.

The movie from the '60s 'Who's Minding The Mint?' comes to mind but I don't recall individual coins playing a prominent role.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly was about
a chest of gold coins-CSA payroll.

I remember a Rockford files episode that involved
two dimes, I believe they were Seateds. And a Mission
Impossible episode that involved a coin/stamp collector
    who was the villian.

In the movie Dear John, the main character's autistic father was an avid coin collector and that plays an important part of the movie and the first coin they found which was a mule.

In the movie J. Edgar, by Clint Eastwood, a banknote has an important role (and this is not fiction, but true story).

The notes, that were used to pay the ransom of Baby Lindbergh, were Gold Certificates, and Edgar Hoover (Leonardo DiCaprio) is surprised to see them, because he thought they were out of legal tender. We are in 1932, and Gold Certificates will become "outlaws" only two years later, with the enactment of the Gold Reserve Act, but apparently he already saw a few in circulation, so as to suggest that they are no longer valid.

One of these notes, $ 20, appropriately marked to be recognized, will discover the kidnapper, who had spent at a gas station, and the gas station man, maybe suspicious of the unusual note, and/or of the fact that it was used to pay the ridiculous amount of 89 cents, had written on the note the license plate number of the car of the man who gave it, the kidnapper of Baby Lindbergh, that thanks to this will be identified and arrested.
