WOW! Just got off the phone with the Mint and the 3-coin Silver Set is gone! That is unbelievable! That means there was over 25,000 orders in less than 3 days! I can't believe I only ordered 3 sets!:headbang:
Interesting. When the 3 coin AGE set sold out they had a notice on the Mint web site. The 3 coin ASE set doesn't have the same notice yet.
They are backordered but it looks like they are still available. They are making 250,000 of these:kewl:
Yeah, when you click on it, it doesn't say the already filled orders. I assume backordered just means your a bit back in the queue.
This headline gave me a heart atrack - so I went on the website and yes, they are still available. I ordered 3 and may get more. I sort if understand the gold set beinbg sold out, since it has the recerse proof, but it is SO expensive. The gold/silver set throws me, though, since as I understand it it is just a packaginbg option - no special coins as such. The silver set will be a winner, in my opinion, since it has the reverse proof, and maybe the Unc. coins will be higher than average quality. We'll see.
They are sold out but they say that they will still take orders.....another one of the "nice" things the Mint does. I wanted to order a few but a death in the family had me out of town and so I guess I'll be looking for one of these at the coin show coming up. Speedy
It could be---its worded funny IMHO but to me it sounded like it was talking about the silver set. Speedy
ND86 I am plesently surprised when you provide the numbers sold for A10 and A11 sets. Please provide your source for this information. The Mint Customer Service refuse to give this information and US Mint Web site does not provide it either. Sorry, I asked you the same information on another thread also. Thanks! Al
" JBK -the gold coin in the 2-coin set is unique in that the finish and mint mark differentiate it from standard bullion coins. The only other set this coin is available in is the three gold 10K qty set -so the silver-gold should be a big gainer in popularity and value. As for the silver sets, 250K seems like a lot -but when you consider that the Franklin commens sold out to 600K -250K is not such a large number for a once ever decade set with a never before produced proof. ...at least as I see it...........jeff
I thought the two coin set was just Unc coins? As for MM, I assumed the W was on all coins (minted at WP) this year??? I might be wrong on these.
I'm a little confused. Did the silver set sell out? If not, is it getting close? Glad a bought a couple. Wish I could have afforded more.
