First I am a total novice! I inherited a number of coins from a friend and going through them... I found this: 1958 Wheat Cent, which appears to have been stuck with the face of a 197(8)? Lincoln D penny leaving a ghost inverse in a 90º clockwise rotation to the convex 1958 Lincoln image, of the 1970s (something) Lincoln on the face side only. Anyone know what this sort of thing is due to? What is it called? What is it worth? How, Why, How?
The posts above are correct. Notice that the image is opposite, the image portion that should be raised is recessed and the date is read backwards. What occurs by using another cent such as 1977 as a die and pressing it into the other cent. Damage and only worth the cent value. Welcome to the forum! Jim
