..take the real close close ups of your coins? I just bought a QX3+ on ebay. It does real well on silver coins for me. Thats what I used when I posted about the mint mark for the seated dime I found. It just doesn't work well on the darker Indian heads I find. What do you guys use? Thanks, Jim
Try putting a desk lamp near the QX3, and play with the light intensity. Copper needs more light than silver.
My first post: I've got a 5MP kodak (nice camera) and it just won't focus on close ups of coins. Whats the secret as far settings. PS: where can i find a pic of the 95D bison "detatched leg?" I thing I have a roll of 40 in good condition.
Welcome derryb!! Check and see if your camera has a macro mode. On my camera, it looks like a flower. It needs to be in macro to take close ups:smile
I have a close up selection. do i want to use no zoom, max zoom. I can't get close enought to the coin to fill even half of the frame without loosing focus.
Are you still in focus from 2 foot away? That will still give you an incredible picture after you crop it. I don't know about the zoom on your camera.
