Less than to much but more than too little.

Careful, Frank. Your wife is only an anonymous phone call away! :D

Yes, but on three different occasions. The 82-CC VAM-2 series is a good example of multiple clashes over the life of the dies.

I spent 200 on a 1914 half dollar. Usually I tend not to spend more than $50 at a time

I finally ordered two of the silver hockey pucks from the mint. $205 each for the Gettysburg and Vicksburg coins.

    Two questions:

    A) When did you open a mint in Vicksburg and Gettysburg?

    B) How much was that by the pound?

  12. I think about a hundred bucks, but my highest single coin ever sold was $800 and I only paid $30 for it... :)

I am too ashamed to admit how much (7 grand). It was a California Fractional token that was mis-marketed. I did not have a book then. I thought I was buying a higher R value (like a R5 or R6 instead of a R2). I forget the details. I have the receipt for the coin. I paid about 6 times too much for my first 11 coins/tokens. The good part is that I do love the series and enjoy the coins. With time, my lack of experience and misplaced trust will not feel so bad.

  18. I made a mistake, I sold two coins totaling near $800. Both I bought for about $30 ea.
    The more expensive sold was
1993 Chinese Rooster Proof Scallop - 2/3 oz 90% Silver ( I had the original box and it was double mint sealed with all original certificates )... I believe it brought close to $600

Not sure this is the best thread for a first post, but the most I have dropped is a little over $2000 on a 1902 £5 Sovereign. Beautiful coin though.
