Yes. It is a stock amusement token. Most were used in video arcades in the '70's and '80's by companies that couldn't afford their own tokens or were used as they waited for their tokens to be made. There are numerous die varieties of this and very similar tokens made by different manufacturers.

These clutter parking meters collections and get sold to token dealers in 55 gallon barrels. Stock amusement tokens are very common though this particular one is a little less common than most.

It's an interesting variety. I don't believe I've seen this one.

Stock tokens with wear are quite unusual.

I have the same exact coin/token, mine is in nearly perfect condition and is brass color. I have no idea what it is, I've always assumed that it was a game token.

Well, maybe not forever.... but considering the OP posed his question almost eight years ago, it's still a LONG time, lol.

I know exactly what this coin is you have posted pictures of. In a way it is a token in another way it is a " Mark ". I will not tell you in this public forum what it is as there are many aspects to the coins emblems. I will say this much...Watch the Music Video by Katy Perry - E. T. as the lyrics are directly related to any who have achieved the recognition that this coin represents. It is for those who are capable by way of their Bloodline to be able to know, understand, and or comprehend the higher aspects of spirituality taught to those born to be apart of the Order of Melchizedek - High Priests...Things above and beyond the 33rd Degree the public hears of concerning Scottish Rites Freemasonry. I want to know why I should tell you anything more about this Mark Coin? Give me a good reason. This is all I will say on a public thread. Is there a proper way to exchange email? I have not read the rules and am not really interested in reading them. Good day to you.

Are you aware that this thread is more than 8 years old, and the token has already been identified in post #24?

Yeah, I found out the same way last year.

That is far from the truth. I will say this and nothing more. The VB stand for Venusian Blood - off world origins. Venus being that of Lucifer which is a word for " light " which is in terms - knowledge. Don't believe me, take the coin to any Masonic Temple or even a print out of the picture and ask your question. I possess the same exact coin by birth right. It is not some Gaming Token and it is not a Casino Chip or anything else related to such. Why are they being found in various places, I do not know that. It is something I will be questioning. Remember Sacred Science is what is commonly referred to today's idea of what Magic is considered to be.

I too have found a couple of these tokens. One is a silver like metal such as steel or a chrome plated metal. The other is the brass type as shown in all the pictures. The coat of arms to me resembles an English or Scottish Coat of Arms, but I am far from an expert. I think the V.B. may be a clue as to what it is or is used for, but since so many of them have been found in the US as well as the Carribbean, it must have a specific use. I found a similar design at tokensdirect.com. Its their stock design # 1521. I have been at a loss to come up with a purpose for it, maybe its some type of arcade token, but its rather large if so.

I have the same token. One is in what appears to be steel and the other in bronze. I've found that tokensdirect.com has stock token designs #0836 and #1521 which are the designs on the token. I've contacted tokensdirect.com, but have not received a reply. I can make out the two rearing lions in the shield, but don't know what is being depicted in the other two quadrants. V B for Victoria Bitter was a good suggestion, but of course V B could stand for anything. Unfortunately there isn't enough information on the token to identify it, so perhaps someone will eventually see these posts and recognize it.

I hate to burst anyone's bubble, but the token is a general purpose token minted by Van Brook. Tokendirect.com and Van Brook were incorporated into a company called Osborne Coinage Company. Unfortunately, the token is used for all sorts of things including arcade, game machines, vending machines, etc. Nothing special about this token and no specific attribution. Not only that, but there are a lot of them being found over the past 10 years. The token actually is minted in 3 different sizes. The ones that I have (2) are brass and nickel plated brass and are 28.6 mm. When Osborn Coinage Company took over Tokensdirect.com and Van Brook, the kept the stock token designs and their inventory number of 0386 on one side and 1521 on the other. Hope this clears up this topic.

    Regards,

    Bill
