    Hello everyone,

I am new this forum and having really taken a liking to coin collecting. I am currently separating, identifying and logging thousands of coins from an old estate and have been able to locate most of them through the internet. However I can not seem to find any information regarding a 1862 Sapnish coin or medal. The only similar coin I can find is identified in this link: http://www.mcsearch.info/record.html?id=167284
Please take a look at the photos and see what you think. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you - Kelley

    Welcome to the neighborhood!

It appears to a medal, but I don't read Spanish. Have you tried checking the reign of Isabel II and looking for the date to see what may have occurred?

Thanks for the response Chris. I tried looking that up and couldn't find any significance for the date? The only thing I could really find with the date was the Civil War Battle at Antietam, which they called America's bloodiest battle. Not sure if that has any significance. I am going to keep searching because now it is starting to get to me that I can't find any info about the medal.

Thanks for the identification. Do you have any idea how many were struck and if it is worth anything?
