I have been reading the lew legislation docs that come out, but have not been able to find any information as to if the mint will release a second commemorative coin for 2006.

Does anybody know ... Will this be a lonely year for commemoratives?

I like the founding father reverse. The Mint has been getting lazy and it finally looks like they put some work into a commem.

OK then I'm gonna lobby for the Fillmore..sorry but he's my hero.
They certainly left themselves a large window of opportunity to release a second commemorative since there's nothing coming out from July to December except the N.& S. Dakota state quarters.Zippo

There are too many commems. It's time for a US palladium coin.

Id love to see another commem for this year... sorry about Mr Filmore... but here are the legislated commems for this year (from which one could be picked)....
    1) San Francisco Old Mint Commemorative Coin --- beginning on January 1, 2006, and ending on December 31, 2006 --- Not more than 500,000 $1 coins
    2) (ALREADY RELEASED) Benjamin Franklin Commemorative Coin --- beginning January 1, 2006 to December 31, 2006 --- Not more than 250,000 (each of 2 designs)$1 coins
    3) Theodore Roosevelt Commemorative Coin --- beginning January 1, 2006 to December 31, 2006 --- Not more than 500,000 $1 coins of each of the two designs
    4) Ronald Reagan Commemorative Coin Act --- beginning on January 1, 2006 and ending on December 31, 2006 --- Not more than 500,000 $1 coins

I would love to see the Roosevelt coin, but considering the popularity of Pres Reagan, i think that commem would sell real well.

Not really =( I had a suspicious feeling they would use the S.F. mint design for the 2nd commem of the year. I was hoping for the Roosevelt. In any event, i did buy the coins to add to my growing collection. I think the design is ok, but not the best. I believe the coin will sell ok, but i do not see a sellout for the S.F. commems ... but im not expert =P

This year has been busy for me, the Bens, the San Frans, the Gold Buffalo, I have been buying some of the Indian Tribe Silver dollars (rounds?) for both the Shawnee Indians and the Poarch creek tribes, and now today the 20th anniversity Silver set ... i havent had time or money to fill holes lol ....
