I have a nice set of Philippine silver coins here from 1947. I guess the Philippine Islands were once a US occupied region but not anymore and just as well because the country is now infested with terroists, al-Qaeda and all the other undesirables that wreak havoc on innocent people. Now back to the question: This is a very nice set of coins except it is not perfect. It looks like someone left it in their car during a very cold winter night and maybe moisture left some funk in the coin case and left a slight look of dew. Anyways, what would you do, there are only 4 choices. I'm not having a poll because I did that once but I messed up. Here are the choices. Anyone? The pics are not very good but they represent the coins well as there's really not that much wrong with them in the first place. :thumb: 1. Leave the coins alone and just hang onto them, besides you can hardly tell anything is wrong. 2. Break them out of the Capitol holder and wash them in a mild dish soap? 3. Break them out and dip them? 4. Alternative answer, feel free to get as creative as you want but keep it real.?
please do not dip them or wash them with soap it ruin them i would take them out and put them air tites beacuse they have a good colar and origanal skin plus the air tites will stop from any damage as the holder there in now is not ir tite. :smile
I don't see those MacArthur coins as a problem, but you may want to break them and give 'em an acetone bath if it bothers you. Make sure after the bath to also bathe them in distilled water.
Don't remove them!:3three: If you can't stand seeing them in the holder, sell them and buy one's that are not encased. :thumb: That's what I did. I feel much better now for it and you will too.
