Apologies for the poor quality image. My camera's not very good for taking close-up photos Left to right: 10 shillings (Ghana) Turkish (?) coin The others come from Tunisia and one bears the Muslim year "1289" The two small coins at the bottom are very worn and almost impossible to read. I think the date on one of them might be "1271." As the Islamic calendar's about 600 years behind our own, these coins must have been minted in the 18th or 19th century
Unfortunately the Ghana 10 Shillings appears to be a fake. These were only issued as Silver Proofs, but there have been many base metal copies coming out of China. The center coin is a common jewelry replica of an arabic coin, these were used for belly dancer costumes. Top right is a 10 Mazunas from Morocco and should be dated AH1330(1911) or AH1340(1921). The other 3 are also from Morocco, 1289 is 4 Falus from the Fez Mint. The other 2 are probably one Falus coins, the pictures are clear enough to read mints. AH1271=1854, AH1289=1872
Thanks DSH. I imagine the Islamic coins were quite common as they're made of what looks like bronze. How can you distinguish a real Ghanaian 10 shillings from a fake as i've seen similar coins advertised online? http://www.ngccoin.com/poplookup/WorldCoinPrices.aspx?category=33023&worldcoinid=96475
