Hello all Iam sorry that i was unable to visit the forums the last 2 days, it is due to my computer. It is fine now and working better than ever.

On to coins, I went to my local bank yeasterday and bought 10 dollars in pennies. The teller looked at me funny like no one had ever done that before, there had to be. Anyways i took them home and immediatley got out a big rag towel and searched them one by one. When i was done with opening the rolls I went back to the certain piles of 00's, 90's, 80's, 70's, 60's and 50's-wheaties and looked for what i needed. I made my way through all the years and filled up about 10 slots on my temporary lincoln folders. I was proud considering that all of them were wheaties and D's.

    Here are my finds:

    8 Wheaties in total, only one of which i needed-go figure-a decent 1965 D.

    5 canadian pennies

2006 penny - which i thought was meraculous these days

And my best find in my opinion a 1971 S penny, my only proof coin.

These are my results. Iam happy that i got through these 1000 coins in about only 3 hours and that my neck has finally healed after a soaking :goofer: .

My plan now is to go through with a list of weird oddities of lincolns and see what i got. Only thing is is that i cant find a list, i dont want anyone sitting there making me one because thats ridiculous but if someone can find one that'd be great.

Iam going to cash in my non-needed pennies after going through with the list and searching.

I hate to tell you this, peter, but:
1965-D is not a wheat cent - though I bet you meant to say 1956-D, in which case, congrats on filling a hole!

Not all 1971-S cents are proofs! The San Francisco Mint stopped making circulation cents in 1975, so if you found a 1975-S up through 2006-S, then it would be proof, but your '71-S is likely not a proof!

Anyways, still not too bad for only $10 in cents! I normally get a box of $25 and usually get about what you did! So congrats!

If you're wanting info on lincoln varities to look at, www.coppercoins.com is gonna be your friend. They're not comprehensive, but they ARE good, and they have plenty of pics.

    Happy hunting,

Haha, your story sounds EXACTLY like mine this Monday. I went to the bank and the teller did the whole "$10 in coins, wtf?!" thing to me. Then I get home, I found about 10 wheats (including a 1910!) and some other randoms. I kept my eye out for double dies, double ears, etc. but didn't notice any.

But it's a great way to waste time, isn't it? :D

Very good waste of time. I was dissapoinred about the only needing 1 out of the 10 wheats. The 1971S made me happy though.
