http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-Rouble-18...1487013?pt=US_World_Coins&hash=item416bcd3da5 Hey, everyone. I'm interested in getting an Alexander III rouble and this seems to fit the bill. However, everything I've read about the coin type suggests that they almost never sell for less than 100 dollars, and if that's the case, that price is suspiciously low. Also, the coin's look doesn't sit right with me. I know there are loads of fakes on eBay; I just thought I'd get the opinion of some far more experienced people in the matter. Thanks!
Yeah, who said it will sell for under $100? Wait for 16 hours, then we`ll see. Seems like they might sell for $71-105 though (see seller's complete listings). I`m not an expert on these coins, but the dot after Г doesn't look right on 1890, but maybe its just circulation damage. It looks like a normal circulated coin, it also looks a lot like the fake I happen to own. 1.) Seller sold 3 of these 1890 rubles, all 3 have exact same looking wear, identical looking coins. 2.) 9 seller feedbacks, 4 of them from same person. 3.) ??????????????? 4.) Stay away form these.
Oh wow, you're right. I guess my brain was tired from all the work I've been doing and ignored all that obvious stuff like checking the guy's feedback and listed items and the fact that the $45 wasn't a buy it now option. I guess I'll avoid this one. Thanks!
