I found this in my mom's old boxes. I need any information I can get on this. I appreciate your knowledge very much. Thank you.
Looks like a pill capsule of some sort, maybe. Do you know if it is silver. Does it say ".925" anywhere on the bottom. It doesn't look like any coin that I've ever seen, but it could be an exotic issue for the far east. You'll have to give your post a few hours or days before a more positive ID can be made. Sorry that I can't help you any further on this. Looks interesting though.
It's supposed to be a Chinese sycee ingot from the 19th-early 20th century. They come in a variety of shapes and and sizes, but I don't believe yours is genuine.
Looks a bit too modern. What exactly do you need help with? Price? Value? Can't tell you much to be honest other than it's supposed to look like a Chinese sycee. There's just too many fakes out there and it's hard to tell if it's even silver to start off with - could be silver plated lead. Don't remember seeing anything that looks similar to it.
I closed the other thread. Duplicate threads confuse and irritate those who post in one thread only to find a second thread going also. Please read the rules.
I'm a beginner and I'm just learning as I go along. But I still can't find anything on it. Is it worth anything? Does it mean anything??
It's not that big. The size of an average thumb give or take. I'm guessing it weighs about 4-5 oz. The color is not as bronze as it looks in the pictures. Its like the silver color with a slight yellowish tint. I'm just trying to be real here.
Where is the other thread ruben ? As of 8:37 my time there was only 1 active. If there is a 2nd active when you posted at 9:42 Pacific coast time , it would make #3. Give me the link please, and I will take care of it. Thanks.
The reality is this - This is a rather difficult "coin" to discuss over the internet without physically inspecting it. Most people have not handled one and hence unable to make any further comments on it. If you want to sell it immediately, it's only as good as metal value and without even knowing what it is, it could be silver or silver plated base metal. It could be a genuine Chinee sycee but from the looks of it, I don't think I have seen one similar. Need more information about it such as weight, dimension, specific weight gravity etc. Chinese sycee if genuine are worth a fair amount if and only if it's proven to be genuine. Without any further information, most people can only guess what it could be.
