Newp. just came in today from northeastern coins. It's my first dmpl/pl and is also my first ngc slab as I normally go for pcgs. It's outside of what I normally am looking for but when I saw her I had to have her. enjoy.
WOW! Stunning coins everyone! I just bought this sweet set of toners from eBay this morning and am THRILLED. It was a great price and I'm going to get some rainbow additions from it to add to my current set. The "Library of Coins" album is an added bonus! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Roosevelt-dime-set-starting-1946-48-90-silver-coins-/230855609278?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&nma=true&si=Nk2NM6OrYzDdKiMAk3ek6lIAy5Q%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
Thank you both right kindly! When the set does arrive I think I'll take and post a few individual pictures too......Especially of that 1954! Yee-haw
I thought the toning on this one was pretty nice. It has a "streaky" look to it, and was quite different from most proof coins I have seen. I took these images with the slab tilted, and a 3 image "focus stack" for each side. It's still a little dark, but you get the idea of what the coin looks like when tilted into a light.
Here is the twelve piece set I am working on in AU58 as the target grade.http://www.pcgs.com/SetRegistry/publishedset.aspx?s=103881&ac=1
I sometimes low ball "lots" of Jefferson nickels. I recently won a 21 coin lot (1938 - 1970) for $20. I was very pleased when they arrived. Most were uncirculated, and it had some gems. Not to mention there were 4 1950 D's. I don't consider them "key" dates, but they do have some value. Anyway, I imaged the earlier ones. I think it was $20 well spent.
All the coins look nice, especially that liberty eagle. One more question, why is it called the "working man's gold"?
