BadThad, you took some nice pic of that coin and I was wondering what type of camera do you use and the settings that you put it on? I have a Sony Cyber-shot 7.2 mega pixels.

If I have offended you in anyway, I assure you it was not intentional. All I did is state my opinion, for all I know, you may be right. Just an educated guess from my end.

One thing that I found interesting while snooping on the MMNS website, was their method of showing the edge of the coin while encapsulated

Sorry you feel that way but folks that don't agree with you are not being negative, they are being honest.
Hope you hang around a while. I'm sure your opinion of most here will change.

I don't know if you'll ever see this, but I suggest you listen to Jim M. I know him personally, and he knows what he's talking about. I also know Ken Potter, and the guys at MNS. By the way their name has changed from MMNS to simply MNS. As Jim said, if someone can't see the pic very well, it is impossible to render an opinion. As for the A and M on the reverse of that penny, compare it to pennies from 1993 through 2008. Any of these pennies will have the same spacing, between the A and M, as on the Type 1 1992. That would be the first thing to compare. Then go further.

I'd like to see if you've had a response from Ken; but he has been very busy this past year, so be patient.

By the way, I'd take MNS's grading over ICG (I Can't Grade).

If you see this, Hi Jim.

You do realize this thread is over a year old, right?

I clearly see the bow-tie and the '8' doubled. The '5 ' and the 'D' are vague. As to the grade of MS65, I think that is way too high with all that wear. I give it a EF45 and that a reach. Take a good look at other Lincoln cents rated at MS65 graded by PCGS, NGC, or ANACS.----

Yes, BU, I do realize that. But as you might notice, people do come back and respond. As well, there are those who come and read. So any info might be of benefit for anyone.

Zeke, I can assure you the guys at MNS would not grade an XF Lincoln penny as MS65. They have more integrity than that.
