today at work i over hear a customer saying "oh wow, a 1909 penny". my first instints were to rush over to him and check it out. well come to find out he was holding this guy in his hands. i immediatly dug in my pockets for money and only had a $5 bill so i offered him that. with him knowing that im always on the prowl asking customers to bring me in their old coins, he jumped all over the offer. who wouldnt take $5 for a penny if thats all they think its worth. i did explain to him that it could be worth a little bit more than five, but he accepted my offer. my only problem with this coin is the black spot by lincoln's ear. so all in all, seems to be a very nice coin for 103 years old. what do you guys think this would grade, and what color would be assigned to this.

    thanks ahead of time,
    chris

AU details. That spot is just too big, IMO. Still worth more than $5.

It's worth more than $5, but it's too bad someone had their collection stolen in order for it to be found in circulation.

Yeah that is pretty nice, but as Tom B said... it was almost definitely stolen from someones collection to end up back in circulation looking that good~
