what to do with coins not kept The coins not kept get returned to the bank. I keep the junkers in a large coffee can. They have a big coin machine and you just dump them in there all mixed. Push a button and the monster eats them. Push another button when all's quiet and it prints out a slip for the teller to cash. Just searched a roll of halfs. Got a rare (for the east coast) 1985D Kennedy.
you lucky dog, those civil war tokens can go for some serious bank and it lloks like yours is in pretty good condition.
Victor is correct- they go back to the bank. And if your bank doesn't have a counting machine, you usually need to roll them.
Thanks- I hope your next searches are more fruitful. Am I correct in guessing that "CC" is "Canadian Cent"?
Yeah, it's pretty nice except the middle of the reverse is somewhat worn. There are similar ones selling on eBay for around $10, which I was slightly disappointed to find out, but on the other hand I only picked it up for $0.01 so I really can't complain!
After all the silver halves I've gotten from banks it'd be hard to justify, but maybe I'll find something that'll make it a possibility!
Well, I think I will get off the sidelines and post. That is some nice finds, as I say it is better to be lucky sometimes then good. Lately I hardly find any wheats but that is ok as long as I find an error or a Bu 1984d. I have been really hoarding those mid 80s Denver mint coins. Searching it is a way of life. Randy
