    Hi everyone,

I was thinking that I would like to spend about $30-$50 a month buying a coin for myself. I am partial to the older stuff, and was thinking NGC or PCGS. I was looking at some MS67 Mercury Dimes, and they are pretty little things :). If anyone else has any suggestions of what they think is nice for that price range, I'm open to them!

    Thanks,
    Will

30-50 a month?? thats it? i am not sure about ms 67 mercury dimes but i know i have bought 65's for around 30 dollars. and if you like the older stuff why not go to the seated series? odds are they won't be graded though. au barber dimes are around 50 dollars graded. the list is long because MOST every type of american coin has a year you can buy for under 50 bucks. from draped half cents to silver eagles

Peace dollars and even some nice Morgan's can be picked up for around 30-50, Slabbed.

Is you goal to pick up random coins that catch your eye or keep picking up coins from a single series? I am not sure what you have so far but if you are not stuck on a particular coin maybe you could start a graded type set. (would later have to save up for many of the coins)

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I have yet to buy anything, so I am not attached to any particular series. The graded type set is an interesting idea. I have never successfully been able to complete a set (aside from circulation sets), and a type set sounds very interesting. I know earlier I said I was partial to the older stuff, but the more I think about it, I think I would enjoy early 20th century the most. When I do get something, I'll be sure to post a picture! Also any other suggestions anyone has a very welcome!

I am doing a graded type set right now, it is very interesting. For early 20th century and around $50 I would suggest buffalo nickels. You can get nice common date MS 65's for $40-50.
