I know this is a reproduction of a draped bust coin silver round, but I can't find it anywhere and have no idea what year it was minted. Also, would this 8 point star make it an error, even if it is just a reproduction? Thanks
It looks like they were trying to reproduce what is commonly referred to as a "recut star", which are seen often on genuine Bust halves of this era. It adds no value to this valueless counterfeit.
thanks again guys. I really appreciate all the info and your time. I'm just starting out, and need all the help I can get. this is something i really love to do and it's cool to share it with people that love it too.
It's not an error since most private mints can produce any "error" they want at any time. And most aren't held to the quality of the US Mint.
Most privately minted silver rounds do not have any readily accesible records. The piece was no doubt made this way intentionally and the reverse is particularly aesthetically challenged.
