buffalo nickel opinions

    ok, so i am in the process of filling up a old whitmans buffalo nickel book my grandfather gave me. not planing on putting very high quality stuff, but nice enough to read the date and see most details. this coin was graded fine by a local coin shop and cost me $1.50. im basically looking to see if this is the proper grade and isnt over priced from people with experience with buff's

    Well that makes it even the more off. I know im not an expert at grading but my PCGS photoguide begs to differ with VG

    I would have no problem paying 2.50 for this. It's very nice.

    From the photo it looks far from VG, feels more like VF25.

    You did fine on that. You'll have a good album at this rate.

    You got a raw Buffalo nickel, that is between F-G, IMO, for $1.50.

    You paid a going rate for common date Buffalo.

    I agree with the others, the coin is probably in the VF range. For that condition, I think it was a good buy.
