Hello cointalk, I know this kind of thread has been done before * but I havn't seen a new one in a while. You can post as many coin mishaps as you want. Numismatics and I go back less than a year but I have a "COIN ACCIDENT STORY" to share with you. It happened about 7 years ago when 11. I had recieved a worn franklin half dollar that had a small hole in the top, in change and thought it was neat. I kept it as a pocket piece for a couple of months. I was in the YMCA summer camp and we were all outside ready to board a bus to go on a field trip to an amusment park. I thought I was a cool guy flipping my large coin in the air, well apparently I had zero coordination because I flipped it and I managed to let it slip out of my hand and it fell onto the street and into that gutter thing that leads to the ocean....Since learning about coins I have kicked myself accordingly.*

Haha that's funny, but also too bad. You lost $12!

Lost plenty of coins on eBay - to other bidders. Not sure if it counts.

Nope, should be an accident like dropping a coin or scratching it on something or spending it.

Definitely got butterfingers once with an Ike proof I was removing from a '77 proof set for my Dansco. It bounced twice on the rim and I caught it before it landed on the floor..... with my non-gloved hand. Fail.

I almost had an accident. I was going to this coin show and brought some coins for sale along with a 1854 Seated Liberty coin just to see what the dealers there would buy and sell it for. I did some laundry later and though, I better check the jeans I was wearing. The seated coin was still in my pocket and almost got washed.

Like when I lost my 1856 FE Cent in the sewer on the Corner of 46th Street and 6th Avenue?
