Ok, I'm going to show that I'm a newbie. What does it mean when someone says the coin has been 'whizzed'?

Whizzing is done using a drill with a soft cloth or fine metal wheel. The coin is then lightly scuffed to hide circulation lines. Often giving the coin a proof-like appearence. Takes lots of practice, and can be misleading to many new hobbyists.

But frequently leaving fine circular scratches, commonly visible without magnification and virtually always visible under 5X.:(

Ahhh..then there are the mystical "metal movers." From what I hear, these guys use a laser to slightly move the surface of proof gold to enhance it. wild huh? :(

Peace dollars do have a strange luster about them compared to other coins.
