Part of the scam? Selling the "half" that's less than 50% of the note?

I was about to buy a note on eBay, but decide to warn the lady of how she was going to get scammed by someone and she took the auction down.

She was selling "A $100 bill torn in half" for $50.00, and posted a photo of a whole $100 bill.

The title and photo implies that she would be telling two halves of the bill for $50.00. I'd say that's a good deal. In actuality, I knew she was selling half of a note. However, she didn't word it "A half of a $100 bill," which would be more appropriate.

So I messaged her this, and also asked what the length of the half was. As you know, you can turn in a portion of a destroyed note and redeem it for another, as long as you have more than 50%.

She never responded and took down the auction.
