The sound silver coins make is pretty nice. They are also a lot prettier than clad coins.

I remember when I saw my first clad quarter. Before that all we had were silver quarters.

well its funny, i decided to take a gamble today, wife and I wanted to start collecting Half dollars (Kennedy). Went to the credit union my normal branch didnt have any, went to one where they said they did. Came home looked through them all and happen to find out of the 20 coins I had one from 1969 D. Found out it has 40% silver (as many as you know). Did some quick dummy math, at current price (based off from 34.71) That coin is worth around 5.13. Im extremely happy. Its my wife and I's first silver coin :D and only payed face value

I would say more like to much time then to much money.
Time going to the bank, Time searching, Time taking them back to the bank, etc....

As for the money it don't really cost them anything. In fact I would say they come out ahead if they find a few 1964 Kennedy Halves. If they don't find anything all the lost was the time they spent searching as the coins are still worth what they paid for them at the bank. :)

you better stop there of start making room in your budget, coin/bullion collecting is addicting. it is not as much as some, but i some how made it to where i have $150 at minimum each week to spend on this stuff. i just got lucky i have a girlfriend who is a coin collector.
