I don't use coins to pay for anything, how about you?

99% of the time I'm like you and just pay with bills and throw the change I get in my car or in a container at home. The only time I pay with coins is if I happen to have some in my pocket from a purchase I made earlier in the day.

I like paying small dollar amounts in Kennedy Halves or Ikes that I've already looked through and seeing the cashier's reactions.. The youngest ones usually have the funniest look on their faces

Of course I use coins too when paying cash. Then again I am in the euro area where we have a couple more denominations and where the smallest note (€5) is roughly $6.50 ... What I dislike is the small pieces (1ct, 2ct) but so far only few countries (e.g. Netherlands) have practically phased them out. So yes, for me it's metal, paper or plastic, depending on where and how much I buy. :)

It would feel strange to pay at the bakery with a credit card instead of coins/notes.

I usually carry some cash around since there are places I go to that still won't accept CC. The change I get back usually sits for awhile before I sift through them. The ones I don't care about gets dumped back into the coin machine at TD.

When paying cash I usually don't use coins, but have here and there. I'll then throw the change in a jar at the end of the day, sift through at some point to see if anything is interesting, keep the pre-82 pennies, and take the rest back to the coinstar at the grocery store. I get the store gift card option (no fee) and buy some provisions.

i paid for a public transport type bus which picks you up from your house and drops you off anywhere in town with kennedy halvs

my tool box is full of quarters for the machines at work because they dont like my bills to much the quarters come from rolls a get from the bank to look threw or if i want prez dolloars i put bills in the coin changer at work.

i almost have a full roll of prez dollars i put 1-3 in the roll every time i get change for look as a way to save money when i get enough i will spend them all one higher priced thing. can you imagine buying a tv with only dollar coins

I believe physical money gives a better sense of ones expenditure.

Quite agree. You can lose a sense of reality when you depend on the plastic. It's far too easy to going overboard with it then if you limit yourself to what you have in your wallet and change pocket.......:)
