So I came across 14 British Virgin Islands 1988 $50 Gold Coins. They're all part of a series minted by the Franklin Mint called, "The Gold Treasure Coins of Ancient Civilizations." I can't seem to find a lot of information about them out there on the interwebs about their collectable value. I did see something out there that said they're .03 ozt AGW, but nothing about mintage numbers or anything like that. Also, there is nothing on the covering or packaging of the coins that says anything about the weight or gold purity. I know the Franklin Mint is good for minting 500/1000 gold coins, so I'd assume that's what these are. If there's some place I could get a little information about these coins or someone could tell me a little about them I'd appreciate it. I've put one picture of a cover and one coin here, there are 13 others that I have.
They are in the Krause world coins guide, this particular coin is KM#75 there s no mintage figures on this coin but coin is valued at $65.
Its Krause KM #87 2.0657 grams .50 fine gold mintage number unknown Its listed as Ceremonial Dancer, but to me it kind of resembles a Hawaiian Tiki.
Very nice, I don't have a Krause book but I'm glad they're in there. I can't find anything about the series as a whole, is there anything in there about that or are they all individual values?
