Hello all i have been roll searching yet again today a box of incoln cents and i came across this 1986 d . looking for an rpm i instead found this wierd raised line or gash in the middle of the mintmark. along with what appears to be a d impression around the mintmark? Thoughts pleasE?
If your talking about the gash behind the mint going from bottom left to top right, that may be rot or something of that sort. If your talking about the filled in part on the top left of the D then i'm not 100 percent sure, as lincolns were still hand punched with the MM in 1986.
Hey thanks for the response. I was mainly asking about the gash in the middle of the mintmark and aorudn it. and if its rot then i gues that cna make sense just a earlier stage of more sever rot?
