Howdy junebug - Welcome to the Forum !!

For someone who is not familiar with coins, the best way in my opinion is to find a respected dealer and sell it to them.

That depends on your knowledge of coins and coin dealers/auctioneers, the value of the coin, and how quickly you need to be paid. Once we know those things then we can give some ideas that may differ from GD's recommendation. His recommendation is the simplest and will get you your money the quickest while requiring very little of you in the area of study and education. The trade off is that you will receive less than wholesale value for it since the dealer will need to be able to make a profit on it's sale. (You can expect 60-80% of it's retail value if sold to a dealer, depending on how quickly it can be resold).

Thanks again! I agree with you completely. I am trying to find someone that may need this piece for a collection. I would be able to sell it for more by cutting out the dealer. There is no urgency in selling this coin. I explained what coin I had in another post. EDITED--Sorry but no offers to buy/sell/trade Thanks again!

Since you are in no hurry, then I recommend that you have the coin professionally graded by PCGS or NGC and then consign it to a Heritage or ANR auction.
