That's my plan cremation and one or more diamonds. Send me to the crematorium with some photos of my favorite coins. Some of that carbon will go into the diamond as well.
Ah, the things people use their time on earth to think about. Since an opinion was asked, I feel the OP can do as he wants, but it is IMO a very selfish thing to do, unless there are no family left. Jim
I have respect for the good works and memories of the dead, but not for the state of decay following death itself. IMO Jim
Does it give you comfort and peace when considering your own mortality? Will it give your loved ones a sense of purpose or closure when they bury you? If so, then sure, it's a great idea. Will it cause grief and strife among family members after your gone? Will their be uncomfortable discussions and bitter feelings now as you make preparations and decide which coins to take? If so, then no...it's probably not a very good idea.
My idea is to amass a collection so great of errors and varietys etc that i could start my own little private museum where they can be appreciated and ooh awed at when there is a time errors and varieties are virtually gone. My second idea is to get everything of mines certified or recertified by some certifcation place noting that this was from "(my name) collection"
Do you really think there would be fewer uncomfortable discussions and bitter feelings if he left everything to family ? Especially when they disagree over who got what, or feel left out, or just feel jealous. You want to talk about selfish, that's selfish. I dunno about the rest of you, but I've never known of a single case where that did not happen to some degree after the death of a loved one. It sometimes make we wonder if it wouldn't be better if everybody took it with them just to avoid all of that. But no matter what is said here in this thread, everybody is going to have different opinions because we are all different people. It's chocolate and vanilla, right down to its basest sense. There is no right or wrong, they are his and he can do as he wants with him. Does anybody deny he has the right to do that ? If you do then you better go look in the mirror and start asking yourself some questions.

I'm so glad that folks are displaying some character here now. It was so darn stoic and combative before. BTW - anyone see Hobo? I haven't seen much of him since the fire unless he ran down to Louisiana because of the storm.
