Okay I think I found a 1892 Micro O!!!!!! It is not in the greatest of conditions, but still!!! I mean come on!!!! It is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!! I just instinctively put it up on eBay I hope that wasn't a dumb move on my part, I just need the money right now for school. Let me know what you think!!! -Justin Not sure if I can list the eBay link or not, but it should be easy to find.
I think you will need to get that certified as a micro-O by either PCGS or NGC in order to realize good money for the piece. As is now, I am not sold that this is a micro-O.
Ummm no, without being able to see the mint mark properally and the condition it is in (which is probaly ag or below) and not being certified, I highly doubt that
So should I spend the money to try to get it graded? I was worried it would come back as ungradable. I don't want to waste my time and money. Is there a way to make the details stand out more, or will I just ruin the coin in the process?
Don't do anything to it unless you want a details grade!!!! If you can fork out the cost to submit it to be graded plus the shipping and the risk it may come back as a regular 1892 o then I'd say go for it
I think I'm going to sleep on it. I don't really have the money to get it graded, but I would love for it to go for a lot more if it is real!
I see a lot of patterns that resemble "o" on that coin in the condition it's in and the pictures provided. I hate bursting your bubble but I'd have to say it's not a micro O, at least what's been displayed.
It's Barber half. Here's a FR-02 on eBay right now for 2K+, but it has a CAC sticker: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1892-O-50c-...ber-Half-Dollar-/180955927021?forcev4exp=true
I am definitely no expert but I think that is a pretty long shot at even being a mint mark. If you compare it to the certified one on Ebay, the mint mark should be lower then what you are pointing at on your coin. I agree that what you are pointing at looks like a small "o", but I bet if you put it under a microscope it is nothing~
